When we prepare your design we work in a 3D model. You can view that model - walk through it if you wish by linking to its BIMx. Here are some links by way of example:
Ladies Entrance
Low-carbon retrofit
Parish Rooms
Quillima Village proposal
Brougham Terrace
(Design by Mimar Sinan 1550-57)
Note that big models can overwhelm the resources of some computers
Click on the "Link" to open the BIMx transfer site.
Select the "Play" icon to open the model
Select a 3D view
The 3D view opens. Use your mouse to redirect your view.
Use your arrow keys to move. (Hold down SHIFT to accelerate.)
Or you can also use the keys W,A,S,D. (this frees your right hand to hold the mouse). -(Hold down SHIFT to accelerate.)
You can select a target...
...to open other views that have been included.
If you switch on Gravity mode..
... you drop to walking-height above any surface
If you select joystick mode...
... you can use your mouse (or jostick) to move. - if you prefer.
In gravity mode you cannot move through walls (except at doors).
In gravity-free (aka "fly") mode you can go through walls.
Individual opjects can be selected.. Details can be viewed.
The info included in any object will depend on the detail included by the designer.
Select the version of the app accoring to your operating system.
Then download the model.
Performance may be better and you will be able to navigate the model when offline.
Note that navigation is slightly different in the app - with some differences between the operating systems.
