About us

G Squared Architecture was founded by Galib Khan and Dai Gwynne who had worked together for almost 25 years at Comtechsa for the voluntary and community sector in and around Liverpool. Galib has now retired, but G Squared Architecture continues to work with the voluntary sector and also with private and commercial clients…

Dai Gwynne, born in South Wales and brought up in the Rhondda Valley, studied in Bristol University. After completing his Dip Arch he worked unpaid with St Pauls Adventure Playground to set up their play building. Later he worked with Windmill Hill City Farm in south Bristol, in the building of various buildings and structures before he left the country to work in India.

He worked for three years in a group of tribal villages in Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana) with a village development agency, concentrating not so much on building as appropriate technology and communication graphics.

He worked with Comtechsa – the pioneering community architecture practice - since 1987.

He has qualified as a Retrofit Coordinator.

Dai was on the Council of the Merseyside Civic Society for 10 years. He is a member of the RIBA.
