Transforming a 35 year old building to a modern multi activity centre

The Pakistan Centre in Liverpool was built in 1977. It is located in the heart of Toxteth and serves a diverse multi-cultural community. The centre serves the whole of Merseyside but not exclusively for the Pakistani community as they work with community, local authorities, and other voluntary organisations. The changing population profile and the diverse multi-cultural needs of the clientele require major alterations and upgrade and extension to the building. An innovative project aimed at improving lives of the local communities was successfully funded by Reaching Communities of the BIG Lottery, the Clothworkers Foundation and Awards for All. With a capital expenditure of about £570,000. The PAL Centre project was completed in August 2015.
